Our 14U team made a strong statement at the USSSA Summer Showdown in Simi Valley, finishing the weekend undefeated and capturing the Gold Bracket Championship.
From the opening games, the team showed confidence and consistency on both sides of the ball, outscoring opponents 11–1 during pool play. The girls continued to build momentum throughout bracket play, competing with focus, resilience, and the belief that they could win every game.
In the championship matchup, the team earned a hard-fought 4–1 victory over Stars Fastpitch BGE to secure the tournament title. Evelyn B. delivered an outstanding performance in the circle, throwing complete games in both the semifinal and championship games while allowing just three earned runs across the two contests. She also contributed at the plate with a home run in the semifinal.
Offensively, the team was locked in when it mattered most, combining to hit .414 during the semifinal and championship games. The lineup consistently found ways to put pressure on opposing defenses and came through with timely hitting throughout the weekend.
Winning a championship is always a great accomplishment, but the most encouraging part of the weekend was seeing this group continue to develop as a team — competing together, supporting one another, and showing the confidence and toughness needed to succeed in tournament play.
